Melanie is a registered osteopath and holds a first class honours degree in osteopathy. A member of the General Osteopathic Council, she is a director of the Carl Todd Clinic and practises from our Corsham clinic. She uses mainly structural techniques in her practice, which involve manipulation and mobilisation, but she is also uses interferential electrotherapy, ultrasound and medical acupuncture along with rehabilitation exercises as part of her treatment programmes. Her aim with patients is to help relieve pain and then give individual guidance into finding a long-term solution for preventing future problems. Melanie is also a fully qualified sports therapist and Pilates instructor, and manages the Pilates and rehabilitation programmes that run at both the Corsham and Swindon clinics. After spending several years treating dancers in various places, including The Moulin Rouge in Paris, Melanie believes that in order to keep the body functioning at its best then good joint mobility, muscle flexibility and strength (along with a healthy mind and diet) are key to living a pain free lifestyle.
